PROFESSIONAL INTERPRETER | INTERPRETATION
As a freelance interpreter, I can offer you my knowledge and my experience:

- Trained at the Translation and Interpretation School (ETI) in Geneva

- All types of conference interpretation

- Languages: French, English and Swedish

WHY CHOOSE A PROFESSIONAL INTERPRETER?

I am a professional trained in the techniques of conference interpretation. Note-taking in consecutive or even link interpretation is a personal and complex process. Hearing a speaker's voice in your headphones and talking at the same time can be a disorientating first-time experience for someone who hasn't learned to deal with all the factors at play in simultaneous interpretation.

Interpreting itself is only part of my work. Since I work with large and varied subjects, in-depth preparation is necessary before being able to interpret during the actual conference.

I am familiar with the requirements of my profession and am thus well equipped to respond to your needs and give you customized quality services.

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF INTERPRETATION

While translators deal with written documents, interpreters' work is always oral. It takes several forms :

Consecutive interpretation:

In consecutive interpretation, a speaker's words are orally translated into another language with the help of notes, to make sure that the meaning is wholly conveyed.

Escort interpreting:

This is the most common form of interpretation and is used in informal situations such as unofficial meetings or company visits. The interpreter forms a link between participants by communicating both ways.

Simultaneous interpretation:

The interpreter works in a soundproof booth with headphones and a microphone. He listens to the speaker and interprets his statement simultaneously. It can also be done without a booth: a cordless microphone and individual receivers (wireless interpretation devices) must then be used. But replacing booth interpretation in this way can only be done under certain conditions: short meeting, limited number of participants, quality sound system, etc.....

Whispered interpretation:

The interpreter sits next to a participant and whispers the speaker's words to him.
